DESIGN IV | Modern Monastery

This project was located in the Island of Andros in Greece. For this project we had the opportunity to chose the religion we wanted it to do. I decide that I want it get deep in the religion that I was born and also where I grew up. For me this project meant so much because the importance that I give to my believe. I specifically chose the religion of my high school in Venezuela, Colegio Mater Salvatoris.

My concept it about how religion it’s a lifestyle and the learning I received from the Salvador Sisters. We believe in the perfect triangle which means to have equilibrium in life. Each corner of the triangle means GOD, family and you and in my model I represent that by putting the church in the middle. The whole model is giving us the feeling that flows as a spiral a circle that it never ends and by that I am reflecting the eternity. Studying the history of the logo of my school, it have 12 star and that means PERFECTION, I represent that in the model by having 12 irregular triangles meaning that imperfection makes perfection.

  • I learned to illustrate written and graphical analysis of the historical meaning of a monastery.

  • Study the characteristics of the site, such as the slope, view, topography and the surroundings.
